Undergraduate Opportunities

The Majoris Lab is OPEN and recruiting Undergraduate Students.

Ongoing Research

The Majoris Lab studies the early development, ecology, and aquaculture of marine organisms. Some current lab projects involve:
  1. Analyzing adult Red Sea clownfish behavior and anemone habitat characteristics to determine whether cannibalistic behavioral syndromes influence the post-settlement survival of juveniles clownfish.
  2. Analyzing video recordings of Red Sea clownfish larvae to determine whether the direction that larvae swim varies between siblings, clutch, and environmental conditions.
  3. Assessing the effects of diet and water quality conditions on larval morphology, activity level, and survival to optimize aquaculture protocols raising marine species.
While these projects are currently underway, I encourage students to come up with their own research questions that are well-aligned with the current research interests of the lab.
